A health worker from Bolton has been found guilty of performing an intimate examination on a 15-year-old girl for his own sexual gratification.
Damien Bible, 26, inserted the cotton bud swab to satisfy a “perverted lust”, Bolton Crown Court heard.
The defendant was employed as a young person’s health adviser at Bolton’s Parallel Clinic, which the girl visited in January last year.
The girl and two teenage friends who were present at the consultation said Bible carried out the swab test, which only a doctor was authorised to do.
Bible, of Gainsborough Avenue, had denied one count of engaging in sexual activity with a child. He had claimed the teenager took the swab herself to check whether she had a sexually transmitted disease.
The jury returned a majority verdict of 11-1 after deliberating for more than seven hours.
Judge Timothy Clayson told Bible: “It is my provisional view that a custodial sentence is inevitable.”
Bible was granted bail until sentencing on October 31.
