Leigh Genesis saw their FA Cup run end in tatters as they crashed out of the competition at the first qualifying round stage.
Leigh found themselves frustrated by a hardworking Curzon side that put enough pressure on Genesis to ensure that the visitors never really got into their stride.
Genesis had a horror start to the second half when Josh Wilson horribly misjudged a simple pass back to his goalkeeper, and Mike Norton latched on to the ball to round Steve Dickinson and fire home.
Andrew Teague came within inches of equalising with 20 minutes remaining when he headed a terrific Jerome Watt cross over the bar but, despite forcing a succession of corners towards the end of the game, Leigh simply did not have the answer to find a way past Curzon.
FC United drew 0-0 at Nantwich in the same round of the competition, with the replay scheduled for Wednesday.
