CUP specialists Atherton LR will be looking to continue their fine form in the knockout competitions when they travel to Penrith Town in an FA Vase first round qualifier.
Already through to the first qualifying round of the FA Cup after a superb victory over UniBond League side Chorley, Rovers defeated neighbours Atherton Collieries 1-0 courtesy of Paul Crompton’s 86th-minute penalty on Monday night to book their place in the semi-finals of the Goldline Trophy.
Dave Hughes’ side will now hope to continue their winning run in Cumbria tomorrow afternoon.
Struggling Colls, meanwhile, will be desperate for a much-needed boost when they entertain Chadderton in the same competition.
After a terrible start to the new campaign, Dave Conlon’s team are rock bottom of the Vodkat NW Counties Premier Division and have yet to win in the league.
But victory against the Oldham club from the division below would ease the pressure on the Alder House boss. Back in league action, Daisy Hill will look to continue their 100 per cent start at Oldham Town.
