Supermarket Morrisons has started using regionally sourced and produced milk in its stores across the North-west.
The company’s standard own-label milk sold at stores in the region all now comes from local farms.
A Morrisons spokesman said the move would help local farmers to secure a sustainable milk price and help create a stable long-term market.
Martyn Jones, group trading director, said: “Milk that is produced in the South West, North East and North West can now be bought across these regions at Morrisons stores.
”Our customers are now able to help support dairy farmers by simply buying our standard own label fresh
