I stood in Bolton town centre leafleting for about 6 hours on Saturday. About 2,000 were taken (and I made sure none were on the ground). The leaflets were inviting people to the public meeting at the Reebok on 30th March about saving local post offices, shops, high streets and communities (see detail in my earlier posts).
It was really encouraging, a lot of people stopped to talk to me and my team. Ok it's obvious that people want local post offices, bus services, high streets and communities. But Boltoners seem to also want more powers to decide on things like local planning and how local public money is spent - things that our Bill (currently in Parliament) would do!
Our public meeting is a chance to find out more. So if you want more of a say in how your local area is developed, or conserved, come along, voice your opinion, hear how the Bill works and how you can help the campaign: 7:30-9:30pm, The Reebok Stadium, Fri 30th March.
