Two new directors will take the helm for this year’s family pantomime, Robin Hood and his Merry Men, at Bolton Little Theatre.
Georgie Smart and Chris Watts have taken on the role of co-directors for the popular Christmas show.
Ms Smart is following in the footsteps of her dad, David, who has previously directed many pantomime productions at the theatre.
She said: "I’ve grown up watching my dad on stage, and have acted with him too: I played Prince Charming two years ago when he was one of the Ugly Sisters and last year Dad directed me in Dick Whittington as well – so I’ve had good training for this."
Mr Watts, who will also be playing the Dame, said: "It’s been a very illuminating experience, directing as well as being in it, but we’re pretty experienced now, so we more or less know how to put the show together."
This year's show will tell the familiar story of Robin Hood and his men trying to save the poor from the Sheriff of Nottingham’s greed, with the Sheriff also having his eyes on the throne of England and Maid Marion.
The cast will see some returning faces, including Chloe Heaton as Marian and Craig Pinnington as Silly Willy.
Simon Irving will take on the role of the Sheriff of Nottingham.
He said: "He’s the traditional pantomime baddie this year.
"The kids love someone to boo at, and you can really get them going with the Sheriff – it’s great fun."
There are some new faces this year as well, including Tracey Entwistle as Little John and Ian Trumble as Friar Tuck.
Robin Hood and his Merry Men will run from Thursday, December 5 to December 15 at the theatre.
