A knitting group is launching a festive trail this Christmas.
The Knit and Natter group in Little Lever are set to bring Christmas cheer to their community with their 12 Days of Christmas Trail.
Inspired by the book 12 Knits of Christmas, the trail showcases an array of knitted and crocheted creations.
The festive display is set to be featured at Little Lever Library from December 3 until January 6, inviting all community members to be part of the holiday spirit.
This year, the group will also be presenting their beloved Woolly Hat Tree, featuring 120 handmade hats.
The hats will be given to those in need in exchange for a donation to Bolton Hospice.
A special library trail has been created by the group, aimed at engaging children aged 5 to 9.
It will include a variety of fun activities to keep young minds entertained as they explore the displays.
The initiative is being coordinated by Little Lever Library staff member, Annabelle Devey, who ensures a memorable experience for the little ones.
The community group's members have put together vibrant displays of cosy, Christmas scenes from the 12 Days of Christmas song.
The displays were organised and assembled by Denise Harling and John Harling, a husband-and-wife duo.
Denise Harling, spokesperson for Little Lever Knit and Natter, said: "This is the biggest project we’ve undertaken as a group, and it’s been such an interesting exercise.
"The process has inspired us to think about even larger projects for future events, and we’re so proud to share this with the community.
"We love working on projects like this, and with members of all ages, genders, and skill levels, the group provides more than just a space to craft, it offers friendship, confidence-building, social wellbeing, and a shared purpose."
Cllr Nadeem Ayub, executive cabinet member for culture, said: "This festive knit trail is a wonderful example of the creativity and community spirit that makes Bolton special.
"This event not only brings festive joy to families in the town but also highlights the incredible talents of our local groups who enjoy putting together amazing displays.
"I encourage everyone to support this community group and bring your friends and family to celebrate the season together."
Founded in 2015, the group raises approximately £1,000 annually for local charities through the sale of their work.
They also hold an after-school club at Little Lever School for pupils who want to learn to knit and crochet.
