Hundreds of people lined a road in Harwood as tractor after tractor piled through the area today (December 1).

The scenes came as part of the fourth Turton Young Farmers' tractor run, which started in Darwen before heading through Egerton towards Bolton.

At around 5.15pm the convoy was greeted by families cheering and waving.

Nicola Holden, one of the organisers, said: "I was down in Darwen earlier today and the atmosphere was great.

The event was raising money for the Lancashire Mind charity, as well as the young farmers, with volunteers suited up in elf ears going around collecting money in buckets.

On the scene was also Conservative Bolton Councillor Les Webb who announced in front of punters: "Back the farmers, kick out Starmer!"

Cllr Webb was very complimentary of the event.

The official vehicle count was around the 100 mark, with HGVs, Bolton Mountain Rescue four-by-fours, and wagons completing the fleet.

Drivers in the parade looped back around via Morrisons' car park on their way towards Bromley Cross, before rounding the run off later this evening in Belthorn and Hoddlesden Village.

Tunes such as Baby Shark and Last Christmas were belted out by some of the tractors, with Nicola adding the event is all there "for a bit of fun and raising money for a good cause".

As well as the tractor run, the Young Farmers Charity held a colouring competition for children in honour of Lancashire Mind, called the “Mental Elf challenge”.
