A man has warned people against staying at a Bolton hotel after claiming his bed sheets were ridden with bed bugs.
Brandon Lee-Campbell, from Herefordshire, stayed at the notoriously cheap Britannia chain's Bolton Hotel in Beaumont Road for three nights, earlier this month.
The stay in the double room cost him £177, however, Brandon is demanding a full refund after the 'hellish' experience.
"My first impression was that it wasn't too bad, the fixtures in the room were a bit shoddy, and the lampshade was battered, but nothing majorly bad," Brandon said.
Shoddy fixtures and a battered lampshade were to become the least of his worries, as the next morning, Brandon discovered he wasn't alone.
"I woke up, had a shower, and noticed there were bed bugs crawling over the sheets I'd just slept in," he added.
The Herefordshire man went to reception to complain, but when the manager came to inspect the room, the critters had disappeared.

"They must have gone back into the mattress," he explained.
Brandon said he was then moved to a separate room in the hotel, but his ordeal was far from over.
He said: "After a while, I noticed that the sheets in the new room were covered in short, black, curly hairs.
"I complained again, a member of staff agreed they were on there, so took me to a storeroom to find some new bedding."
Brandon says he was then shocked to be told that he would have to swap the sheets himself.
It then got even worse, he said: "I then noticed that the new sheets were also covered in the same hairs, and loads of the ones in the storeroom were as well."
Left seething, Brandon is still requesting that Britannia offer him a full refund.
"The best they've offered me is a complimentary breakfast, but given what I've seen, it's probably a good thing I was rushed for time and couldn't eat it," he said.
The disgruntled vacationer has left a review on booking.com, which reads: "I woke up on the first morning to find a bed bug scurrying on the bed to my horror."
He added: "I would never ever stay here again, and would advise people NOT to go, health and safety hazard!"
Britannia was contacted for comment but declined to offer a response after the claims were put to them.
Last year, the brand was named the UK's 'worst' large hotel chain by Which? for the 11th year in a row.
