A woman is unidentified more than eight months after she was discovered dead in the River Mersey.
The woman was discovered dead by Chorlton Water Park by a member of the public in March 2024.
She is unidentified in spite of an in-depth investigation and a number of appeals the latest of which, on Friday, was an appeal including a forensic facial reconstruction by the Face Lab.
It is thought she was around 26 to 40 years old, around five feet tall, with dark brown hair and a slim build. She was in New Look black jeans, a Primark green top and green socks.
It is thought she was in the water for around one month to two months and it is possible she went into the water in the River Mersey or tributaries the River Goyt and the River Tame.
The cause of death is unascertained at this time according to the police.
Detective Inspector Louise Edwards, of Greater Manchester Police's Major Incident Team, said: "This woman will have had family and friends and could be someone's daughter, sister, auntie or cousin. We want nothing more than to reunite her with them."
