Morrisons have responded to customers' complaints over empty shelves.
Shoppers in Harwood's Lea Gate Morrisons have complained of “hardly any food” in the fresh produce sections in recent days on social media.
The supermarket chain has responded that its warehouse management system, Blue Yonder, had an “outage” last week - affecting its fresh and produce sections.
But it did not impact frozen foods.
Blue Yonder has said in a statement that its services were “disrupted” by a “ransomware incident”.
Morrisons have said they are currently using their back-up systems to deliver for their customers.
Customers praised the staff and the store but said they were confused as to what is going on.
Nadine, 44, a shopper at Morrisons in Harwood, said: “I was in there yesterday and they literally had hardly any food in the fridges.
“There was zero explanation. It looked like it was closing down when you entered the store.
“I think if there is a problem they should at least communicate it with customers.
“The staff in there are always lovely.
A spokesperson for Morrisons said: “Last week Blue Yonder suffered an outage which has impacted our warehouse management systems for fresh and produce.
“Ambient and frozen are unaffected.
“We are currently operating on our back-up systems and we're working very hard to deliver for our customers across the country."
A Blue Yonder spokesperson said: “Blue Yonder experienced disruptions to its managed services hosted environment, which was determined to be the result of a ransomware incident.
“Since learning of the incident, the Blue Yonder team has been working diligently together with external cybersecurity firms to make progress in their recovery process. We have implemented several defensive and forensic protocols.
“We have notified relevant customers and will continue to communicate as appropriate. Additional updated information will be provided on our website as our investigation proceeds, please visit https://blueyonder.com/customer-update.”
