The wife of a man who died at a workplace told a pre-inquest review they just want answers to what happened.
A pre-inquest review into the death of Farnworth man Mark Alan Antony Tatlock died on July 25 of last year.
Mr Tatlock died at the age of 41 on July 25 2023.
Sarrie Tatlock, Mr Tatlock's wife, said: “For us, as a family, it’s just knowing the what, why and when.”
Coroner Timothy Brennand, said: “When the case was reported to me, the decision I made was to commence a formal investigation on the 4th of July.”
The coroner said that Mr Tatlock died at Bedford Fabrications.
Rose Leese, from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), called the death “regrettable” and said HSE would pursue the case if CPS do not choose to prosecute.
The results of a provisional HSE investigation will also be withheld until the police investigate concludes.
Mr Brennand said that the inquest will begin around spring next year, with a date not yet confirmed.
He said: “If there are charges preferred at that point I will suspend the inquest, it all depends on what happens to the criminal process if there is one.”
Mr Brennand said that the purpose of the inquest was to increase the families “understanding” of the incident and “so that no one else will sit where you are sitting.”
