A woman was shocked to find a car had ploughed into her house last night (November 25) while she was in bed.

The crash - at around 9pm on Manchester Road, Blackrod, next door to the Bens at the Legion pub - has miraculously resulted in only minor damage to the terraced house.

No serious injuries have been reported but an ambulance did attend the scene.

According to witnesses, the passenger and driver were "shaken up" and were taken inside the nearby pub to be re-assured.

The woman, who didn't wish to be named, told The Bolton News: "I was just upstairs in bed, when I heard a loud noise and the picture frames all fell down.

"Then I came downstairs to find a car right outside my front window so it was pretty shocking to see.

"The driver tried reversing twice but didn't get anywhere."

She added that it wasn't a big car and that she's "thankful it didn't crash into her front room".

"I'm waiting for a surveyor to see how much it will cost to fix, so it's not ideal," she explained.

The road is lined with a number of parked cars meaning it can be tight to drive down, especially as it's a bus route.

Shattered glass is also littered across the pavement, although it's unclear as to whether that was as a result of the crash.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: " The incident was a single-car road traffic collision that hit a house.

"We were called at 9.05pm.

"There are no serious injuries or arrests."
