More snow could fall in Bolton this afternoon as the cold blast contines.
The Met Office is predicted a mix of sleet and snow showers from 3pm onwards.
There is also warning about icy conditions.
Temperatures will again struggle to get above zero degrees today with a mix of sunshine and cloud predicted for today.
Tomorrow any snow and sleet showers are expected to clear by 8am, with temperatures reaching a high of three degrees.
A yellow weather warning has been issued for rain and snow in Bolton over the weekend.
The Met Office warning stated “Icy stretches are expected to form on untreated surfaces during Wednesday evening and overnight into Thursday as temperatures drop below freezing.
“A few sleet or snow showers are also likely at times, particularly close to coasts.”
The Met Office says that there is a 50 per cent chance of snow at 3pm, rising to 80 per cent from 4pm and then 90 per cent from 7pm .
Temperatures are expected to drop to lows of 1°, which the Met Office says will feel more like -4°.
It added: “Keep yourself and your family safe when it is icy.
“Plan to leave the house at least five minutes earlier than normal.
“Not needing to rush, reduces your risk of accidents, slips, and falls.

“If you need to make a journey on foot, try to use pavements along main roads which are likely to be less slippery.
“Similarly, if cycling, try and stick to main roads which are more likely to have been treated.
“Give yourself the best chance of avoiding delays by checking road conditions if driving, or bus and train timetables, amending your travel plans if necessary.
“Be prepared for weather warnings to change: when a weather warning is issued, the Met Office recommends staying up to date with the weather forecast in your area.”
