A new deli and bar is to open in an area of town which is establishing itself as a food and drink destination.
The new business on Chorley Old Road will operate as a deli during the day, offering sandwiches and coffee, and as a bar at night, although it will continue to serve coffee until close.
This comes after the owners of Common and Coffee, Jonny Eckersley and Andy Partington, closed it in September to chase the new venture.
Jonny said: "It will be a day and night deli and coffee shop. In the night we will serve alcoholic drinks, but it won't be a bar open until 2am, we have only applied for licensing until 10pm as we are deliberately trying to be as respectful as possible to the local community.
"As similar establishments have done, there is a need for this in the area but we would never intend to run until the early hours of the morning.
"With the sandwiches, there is nothing really like it in the area, we will have a huge range of sandwiches, made with local produce. It always will be, that is a huge part of what we're doing.
"The sandwiches, pastries as well, all local. We will have a few extra bits, we're potentially looking at breakfast, but that is to be confirmed.
"What was the cafe will have the deli counter, a grab and go situation, then there will be a doorway which leads to the bar at the back, daytime customers can sit in there and have their coffee."

Jonny added: "We really want to make it a community hub. We've invested time, money and energy into making the area as comfortable and casual for people to come and enjoy their food and have a coffee."
"We are working with Rivington Brewery so will have them in on draught, we will have a small curated selection of draught lagers and pale ales, potentially a stout.
"There will be a selection of wines and hopefully cocktails in the future. But you can get coffee right the way through, a large proportion of people don't drink and we want to make sure they are accommodated for.
"We are really keen to build a community vibe, with events potentially in the future, we could host dog walkers and running clubs for example.
"You will be able to bring your elderly relative on Tuesday morning for a cup of tea, but also a drink with your significant other or family on Saturday night."
Heaton has a growing cultural offering, with Bunbury's micropub further down Chorley Old Road offering a range of beers.
Just down New Hall Lane there are also The Coffee Shop @ Heaton which offers coffees and homemade food and Provisions wine shop and deli.
