A MAN has been injured after being hit by a train this morning, Monday.
Emergency services descended on to Hag Fold railway station, in Atherton, shortly after 7am today, November 18.
When asked about this, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson confirmed a man had been hit by a train and referred the Journal to British Transport Police (BTP), who dealt with the incident.
A spokeswoman for BTP said they had been called to a report of a casualty on the rail tracks.
They said a person was found with injuries and taken to receive medical care.
A BTP spokeswoman said: "Officers were called to a report of a casualty on the tracks just after 7am this morning (November 18) at Hag Fold Railway Station near Atherton.
"Officers, paramedics and fire service attended and a person was found with injuries and has been taken to a place of safety to receive medical care.
"The incident is not thought to be suspicious."
