A warning has gone out for snow and ice across Bolton, Bury and elsewhere in the North West this evening.
According to the Met Office, the Yellow Warning is in place between 7pm on Monday November 18 to 10am the following morning, Tuesday November 19.
Heavy snow is set to fall in Bolton this evening.
This could mean disruption across the roads.
A Met Office statement said: “A period of rain, sleet and snow will occur during Monday evening, overnight into Tuesday morning.
“The most likely scenario is for most of the snow to accumulate on hills, with five to 10cm possible above 200 metres and perhaps as much as 15 to 20 cm above 300 metres.”
The Met Office said that there was a chance that some snow could settle but that this was more likely across Yorkshire and Derbyshire than in the North West.
Officials warned that as rain, sleet and snow clear on Tuesday morning, ice could form on untreated surfaces.

“Plan your route, checking for delays and road closures, amending your travel plans if necessary.
“If driving, leave more time to prepare and check your car before setting off, make sure you have essentials packed in your car in the event of any delays (warm clothing, food, water, a blanket, a torch, ice scraper/de-icer, a warning triangle, high visibility vest and an in-car phone charger).”
The wintry conditions are expected to hit Bolton at 6pm, with heavy snow forecast from 8pm onwards until 5am, when it starts to peter out.
Tuesday is set to be sunny from 8am onwards.
