A family have been left heartbroken after the sudden and unexpected death of a mum-of-four while she was on holiday in Egypt.

Liz Boardman, from Kearsley, was on holiday in Hurghada with her partner Alan and four sons when she died suddenly on Sunday, November 10.

An investigation is ongoing into the cause of the 40-year-old's death, but Liz’s family have said that she had no previous health issues and no allergies.

Her close family and friends have set up a fundraiser to raise money for Liz’s four sons, Harry, 19, Jack, 14, Theo, 10 and George, seven.

“We still don’t have answers as to the causes of Liz’s death, she was flown back to the UK on Friday (November 15).

“The fundraiser will go towards raising money for Liz’s four sons, they’ve been left without a mum. I can’t even imagine what they’re feeling right now.

“We’re all trying our best to be there to support them.

“Liz had so many friends, she had such a positive impact on so many people.

"She’d do anything for her boys, she was always there to support them. She was such a good mum.

“We are heartbroken and don’t know how we will recover from this loss.”

The fundraiser has raised £350 of the £4,000 target.

Michelle Lowe, a long-time friend of Liz who set up the fundraiser said: “Liz had recently celebrated her 40th birthday in August.

“While on holiday in Egypt with her boys Liz suddenly passed away unexpectedly leaving her boys.

“This page is to help raise funds for funeral expenses, gravestone and to help the boys as much as possible at this extremely sad and difficult time.

“Liz was full of life and lived for her boys, any help would be greatly appreciated.

“Her funeral is not arranged at this time as she has only been flown back to the UK on November 15.

“Thank you again from Liz's family and friends, Chris Barber, Lisa Barber, Jeni Cook, Hayley Swift and Michelle Lowe.”
