A former Bolton Sixth Form student is set to star in a beloved duo's Christmas blockbuster - alongside some famous faces.

Lauren Patel,23, who studied performing arts, music, and media is appearing in a new Wallace and Gromit film.

For Lauren, it's a dream come true, but it gets even better as Bolton's Peter Kay and Diane Morgan will be starring alongside her in the production.

Peter Kay, who is perhaps Bolton's most famous son, will be lending his voice to the role.

Lauren will voice the role of PC Mukherjee, an overenthusiastic young police officer who figures out what’s really going on but faces disbelief from her idiotic superior.

Lauren said: "I had such a wonderful time at The Sixth Form Bolton's performing arts department.

"They encouraged me to be creative and confident and really helped nurture my love for performing."

Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl will premiere on BBC One and BBC iPlayer this Christmas.

(Image: Supplied) Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl sees Gromit’s growing concern as Wallace becomes over-dependent on his inventions - which proves justified when Wallace invents a ‘smart gnome’ that seems to develop an evil mind of its own.

But who or what could be the cause? As events begin to spiral out of control, it’s up to Gromit to put aside his qualms and battle sinister forces, or Wallace may never be able to invent again!"

Lauren’s previous credits include a lead role in the film: 'Everybody's talking about Jamie'.

The Expressive Arts department is really looking forward to watching the film, Sam Lawther, Head of Performing Arts, said: "It is an absolute delight to continue to hear about the amazing and diverse projects Lauren is involved in.

"We always knew she was destined for greatness. Wallace and Gromit is one of my all-time favourite animations so I'm really excited that one of our past students is now involved in contributing to its success."
