A provider of NHS cataract surgery is launching a new regional campaign.
SpaMedica, headquartered in Bolton, wants to educate patients in the north west about their right to choose their NHS treatment provider.
Targeting areas including Manchester, Bolton, Oldham, and Sale, the company will also seek to highlight the role played by optometrists in guiding patients through their treatment journey.
SpaMedica's campaign will use local press, radio advertisements, and door drops to raise awareness of patient choice, discussing quality of outcomes, location, ease of access, and service user reviews.
Dr Alex Silvester, chief medical officer at SpaMedica, said: "Our campaign encourages patients to visit their optometrist if they have any concerns about their vision or eye health, and to choose the treatment provider that’s right for them.
"It’s not just about raising awareness of patient choice – it’s about giving patients the information they need to make an informed choice."
SpaMedica is also inviting patients to attend a ‘Sight After Sixty’ webinar on Wednesday, November 20, hosted by clinical director of outpatients, Professor Christine Purslow.
Founded in 2008, SpaMedica has 61 hospitals across the UK.
It is a member of the Veonet Group, the European provider of ophthalmology care.
