A world-famous trumpet player is set to perform at a Bolton brass band's gala concert.
Mike Lovatt, who has played on the soundtracks of the Harry Potter films, the Daniel Craig James Bond films, and numerous other Hollywood blockbusters, will be joining Bolton's Eagley Band at their gala reunion concert next October.
The Eagley Band, one of the oldest brass bands in the world, will be celebrating their 175th anniversary in 2025.
Musical director Chris Wormald said: "I was with Mike a couple of weeks ago adjudicating down in Evesham.
"We chatted about his schedule and Eagley being 175 years next year.
"Things moved quickly to the point where we have now officially booked Mike to come up to Bolton and be the star of our gala reunion concert next autumn.
"We can't wait, booking Mike has created a real buzz within the band already and when word gets out and tickets go on sale next year, I have no doubt every brass player in the area and film fan will want to witness one of the great trumpet players perform 'live' in our town.
"I'm thrilled we've got him."
Eagley Band will be performing their Victoria Hall "From Bing To Bublé" 2024 Christmas Concert on Saturday December 14th at 7.30pm. Tickets are just £5 available from the Victoria Hall, Booth's Music Shop or on line.
