A new restaurant has opened in Bolton town centre offering Indian street food and one dish "everyone will love".

Spice and Spirits opened this week on Nelson Square, but an official 'grand opening' is set for two weeks, when the full menu will be revealed.

Food offerings range from curries, pizzas, English breakfasts, desserts.

The opening marks the second Spice and Spirits premises in Bolton, with a second restaurant already in Little Hulton.

Jeevan Thapa, manager, said: "We're really excited, and on opening day we were really busy.

"We'll be serving lots of Indian street food.

Inside with the new decorInside with the new decor (Image: NQ) "People will love our chicken and lamb tariwala, and customers can also get something from Curry in a Hurry which we own outside, and bring that into the bar."

At Curry in a Hurry, you can get a curry with rice or chips for £8.95.

The new haunt is licensed and draft beers include, Guinness, Heineken Silver, Cruzcampo, Inch's cider, and Red Stripe.

Desserts punters can get their hands on include mataka kulfi for £5.50, or a 'quacky duck' treat.

(Image: NQ) Mr Thapa added: "It was previously just a bar, but we changed all the tables.

"It's been five months since we took over the place."

Spice and Sport will be open from 12am till 1am on weekdays, and 10.30am to 3am on weekends.

Bhavesh Patel, 39, its owner, said it, and his other site, are the only Indian sports bars in Greater Manchester.

He said: “There are no other places like it in the area.

“We have all the matches playing, boxing, football, everything.

“And people can enjoy a curry as they watch."
