The owner of a chippy has described his "extreme" happiness after winning a prestigious award.
Chip&Go at Bolton Market has won the Good Food Award for Takeaways 2024.
The chippy, which has been based in town for a little over two and a half years, will have the mark until December next year.
It is known for its loaded chips, with toppings including butter chicken masala, chilli, a deconstructed burger and chicken fajita.
Owner, Sebastian Coman, said he was delighted to win the award.
He said: "For such a small takeaway with not many employees, it is a real battle to fight with the big ones, but as you can see it is not impossible, you just have to keep pushing.
"It's amazing to win a prize such as this. If I am not mistaken, it was from over 67k nominations.
"This means a lot for me, the hard work and dedication and the challenges we overcame reach this milestone. I am more grateful for my customers and their contributions to the shop, being loyal.

"Without them I wouldn't be here today."
He added: "I've only been here for two and a half years, I am a new business and it always takes a few years for new businesses to establish themselves, but after that you're thinking what are you going to do in the future.
"I was amazed at being shortlisted, I didn't think I was going to reach this far, being shortlisted alone was a win.
"I am extremely happy having won this. It will be valid until December next year, then I hope I will retain it for the next year."

This comes after the shop offered free food for life to those who get the chippy's logo tattooed on them.
The offer entitled participants to a free meal a day - however it is only available to the first five people who take Sebastian up on it.
