Punters were happy to see a fresh feather in the cap of Bolton's nightlife as a new bar opened tonight, November 8.

Hideout in Farnworth opened its new sports bar this evening.

The Whoolden Street venue, which also has a cafe and a sports arena, features four pool tables, two dartboards and a gaming zone in the new facility.

Its owners, Phil Juniper and Dane Cunningham, gave locals their first chance to get acquainted with the new bar tonight.

We want to have something new in the area.

"A lot of kids love the Xboxes and PlayStations but unfortunately aren't always able to have them at home, so it gives them that opportunity, but then their parents can also relax, play darts, have a drink, and it's a win for everyone.

"When creating it, we have been trying to figure out what the community wants.

"Up to now everyone has been really happy. It seems like it's been a breath of fresh air."

Ruth said: "We came before when it was open previously."

Paul said: "I like it, with the pool tables, and it's the space itself, it looks really nice.

"I just hope they do well. It looks like they have spent quite a bit of money, I hope they do well."

Bobby Murdock came out from Warrington for the opening night. He said: "It has been great, I think it's a nice place, very high tech with the pool tables, the games and the screens and all that, it's multifunctional.

"The food is amazing, I just had the chicken strips and cheeseburger, it's well priced too - I just paid £4 for a pint of Guinness.

"I am really excited about the venue."

Bobby will also be running a comedy night at Hideout on December 5.
