One of the main streets in Bolton town centre as seen more than a century ago.
This is one of the earlier photographs we have of Deansgate, taken in October 1926.
In the foreground tram tracks running past the shops. On the right of the photo you can just make out the Burton’s sign and among the businesses was Bromilow and Edwards garage.
What really stands out is the large poster saying ‘Get the Denville habit’. We’re hoping that Looking Back readers might be able to enlighten us. What was it advertising?
