Vue cinemas in the region, including Bolton, are set to celebrate the release of Wicked.

The newest adaptation of the 'award-winning musical' by Stephen Schwartz is hitting the big screen on November 22.

Wicked tells the 'untold story of Oz', focusing on the friendship between Elphaba and Glinda.

Cynthia Erivo will star as Elphaba, and Ariana Grande will star as Glinda.

Vue is planning a 'special screening' on November 23, where fans are encouraged to dress in pink and green, the colours of the stage show.

Attendees of this screening will receive a 'limited and unique' LEGO piece featuring a green potion bottle and pink rose, symbolising Elphaba and Glinda.

Vue will also be offering merchandise and two Tango Ice Blasts, 'Defying Raspberry and Cherry Goodness', to mark the film's release.

"With tickets now on sale, we’re thrilled to invite Ozians and film fans alike to enjoy every musical note and magical moment of this spell-binding release on the big screen, all from the luxury of our comfortable leather seating and incredible surround sound."

Finally, ahead of the release, Vue will be screening the 1939 movie, The Wizard of Oz, from November 15.

This will give fans the chance to revisit the Yellow Brick Road with Dorothy, Tin Man, Scarecrow, and the Cowardly Lion.

Tickets are now on sale for Wicked and The Wizard of Oz screenings.
