A traditional spooky spectacle returned to Bolton – prompting some haunted looks from passers-by.
The McGuiness’s Higher Tongs Farm Halloween Hack put on a show in Moss Bank Park, Bolton, in the run up to today, Halloween.
Fans of spooky season saddled up for a Halloween ride.
The hack started at the farm in Smithills.
Riders then rode through Barrow Bridge toJanette McGuiness, who runs the farm, said: “It was amazing as always.
“We do it every year, we’ve got a Halloween ride, a Christmas one, and even an Easter one weather permitting.
“We meet up at the farm for 10.30am, then have a photoshoot where we all get to see everyone’s fabulous outfits, then we head off to Moss Bank Park.”
Ms McGuiness, who runs the farm with her daughter, Beth, said her favourite outfit was the scarecrow.
She added: “It’s true, we do get some funny looks.
“It’s not just horses, people come along with their boyfriends or husbands and walk along.
“Some people even bring their dogs and dress them up.”
The mother-and-daughter-run farm have been putting on a horsey-Halloween parade for around 10 years now.
Ms McGuiness said: “We’re already planning our next one, we just love it.
“We even have a bit of a party afterwards with some Lancashire hotpot.”
Ms McGuiness thanked Jane Brookes for organising the spooktacular affair.
She added: “It’s just so good as it brings people and families together, plus we all get to see the fantastic outfits so what’s not to love!”
Riders and the farm put on the yearly treat because ‘it puts a smile on children's faces’ — as well as being fun for those who work on the farm.
