Here’s a great photo giving us a very different view of Nelson Square in Bolton.
It was taken in January 1950 and shows the demolition work which had been carried out to pull down the Lever Arms Hotel to allow an extension to the neighbouring Pack Horse Hotel to be built.
Does anyone recognise the large, three-storey building on the corner with Bradshawgate in the rear of the photograph?
