A well established and well-loved restaurant is in the running for the Bolton News’ Best Curry House Award for 2024.
The Royal Balti House on Market Street in Farnworth is one of 10 curry houses from all around the borough to have made the final short list.
The Farnworth restaurant has been running for decades and is appealing for long established customers to show their support.
Owner Atikur Sabur said: “We’ve been around for many years, we’re one of the oldest in Bolton.
“We’re a small family run business and we take care of all the small details to make sure we get things absolutely right in terms of food.
“We know we must have been doing something right to have been going for 35 years!”
He added: “We know a lot of businesses have been struggling after but customers have returned because they know we’re consistent with good food and good customer service.”
The Royal Balti House features its signature dish “the Bolti” on its menu as well as a range of other kinds of curries, including vegetarian and vegan options and side dishes.
The restaurant also features deserts, extras and a children’s menu along with a string of other options.
Over the years, the Royal Balti House has featured in classic comedy Phoenix Nights played host to its stars Paddy McGuinness and Dave Spikey.
It has also welcomed other famous guests like Nat Lofthouse, Ainsley Harriott and many more.
All have left a string of glowing testimonials about the meals and staff at the Royal Balti House.

But it is also widely known and appreciated by a broad base of customers across Bolton who have come out in groups and families over the years.
Mr Sabur said: “Without our customers we wouldn’t be where we are today so we’re really thankful to them.
“We’ve seen four generations, grandparents with grandchildren and we make sure they all have a great experience with great quality food.”
Voting for Bolton’s favourite curry house will start from Monday October 28 and continue over the following 12 days.
The winner will be announced soon after.
