With electric vehicles (EV) becoming more popular in recent years, the need for charging points has increased.

If you drive an EV, it’s useful to know where the local charging points are, especially if you don’t have your own at home.

Are there enough EV charging points in Bolton?

The responses were mixed with some saying there aren't enough and others recommending their favourites.

Some locals recommended some of Bolton’s electric vehicle charging points with one saying: “Tesco Farnworth always quiet and one’s free”.

Another shared: “Sainsbury’s services on Manchester Road” while Tesco in Kearsley was also recommended by a local.

One local said: “Nowhere has anywhere near enough and wont have. Its totally unpractical, unworkable and unaffordable for tens of millions of people. A pipe dream, making a few people a lot of money.”

A report from the Environment and Climate Change Committee urged ministers to ensure charging is “reasonably priced, convenient and reliable”, with the same VAT rates for domestic and public charging.

Former chairwoman Lady Parminter said the move to electric vehicles is “one of the most important actions if we are going to get to net zero”.
