A Bolton takeaway has received a four-star hygiene rating following a re-inspection last week.
ChknStop, a takeaway restaurant on 428 Halliwell Road, received a one-star hygiene rating following an inspection last July.
The restaurant, which has been running for three years, received a four out of a possible five at its most recent inspection on Wednesday (October 16).
The Food Standards Agency website states that a four means that “hygiene standards are good”.
A spokesperson for ChknStop said: “We are delighted with the council’s decision to award Chikn Stop with a four star rating, our brand has always maintained strict hygiene standards and continue to do so.
The team, at Chkn Stop has put in a lot of effort to ensure that our approach to quality and hygiene standards are maintained at all times.
"Serving high quality food and ensuring this is done a very clean environment remains our top priority.
"We have an amazing deal for you on Monday (October 28) and Tuesday (October 29) Bring a friend, grab any burger/wrap and chips, and enjoy double the flavour for the price of one.
"The business has always scored a consistent high score on previous inspections.
“However, at our most recent inspection in July, the inspector’s report highlighted two areas of concern which resulted in the low score.

“The fridge that the report highlighted was out of order for a period and it was not being used to store any kind of food products.
“There were remnants of food that were found however none of it was being used for human consumption and was merely in there until all of it was thrown out.
“The second part the report highlighted was of mouse droppings that were found on site; however, they were found in the basement of the building which did not form part of the kitchen or an area that is being used to store any food products.
“We also have a contract with a private company that routinely inspect the premises to maintain the strict hygiene standards we have set.

“In any case, the council has inspected the premises again and we have scored a four rating which can be seen on the council website.”
The takeaway says it has worked “tirelessly” to address issues raised
In its recent report, the restaurant’s hygiene standards were seen as “good” as well as the cleanliness and condition of the site.
The management was deemed as “generally satisfactory” which was an improvement from July’s inspection.
Ratings are a snapshot of the standards of food hygiene found at the time of inspection. It is the responsibility of the business to always comply with food hygiene law.
This includes handling of food, how food is stored, preparation, the cleanliness of facilities and food safety.
