Police seized a vehicle in Breightmet after officers say checks revealed the driver had no insurance or licence.
The silver BMW was seized under Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act on Wednesday (October 23) according to the force.
The vehicle had been driving on Blenheim Road and when patrolling officers conducted checks, it was found to have no insurance. Further checks were conducted on the driver and confirmed they did not have a licence.
Section 165A of the Road Traffic Act gives officers the power to seize vehicles.
The driver was summonsed for driving offences.
Bolton police are also running Operation Classify which is designed to target drivers on ‘high-risk’ road routes in the borough.
This comes amid long running concerns about crime on the roads in Bolton and further afield across Greater Manchester in recent months including cases of car theft, dangerous driving, driving without licences and driving without insurance.
Officers have urged anyone with any concerns about crime or anti-social behaviour on the roads or otherwise in their communities to get in touch by calling 101 or 999 in the event of an emergency.
Alternatively, witnesses can also call independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
