The site of the former Palladium Cinema on Higher Bridge Street in Bolton had become a used car centre.
Knibbs of Bolton opened the centre in August 1984 and marked the occasion by hosting a free barbecue for would-be customers.
Ironically the old Palladium building had originally been designed to be used as a garage but the cinema opened in 1921. The Palladium Picture House closed in 1958 and the venue became the Wryton Wrestling Stadium hosting a number of televised bouts.
In 1978 it became the first indoor skateboard centre in the country but the building was demolished in 1982
