Final preparations for the reopening of a popular Indian restaurant are being made after the business had to leave its former location.

Lagan Restaurant announced in February this year that it was to leave the building on Broadgate in Ladybridge.

The Indian eatery, which has served its community for 20 years, is to make way for a prayer room after plans were approved in July

Last month, its owners announced that it would move to the former site of Nick's Restaurant on Chorley New Road, Horwich, 10 days before they were due to leave.

The new premises are close to be opening as renovations come to an end.

Co-owner Raj Das said: "Things are going really well, we have the decorators here, we are having a full refurbishment and we have been really busy trying to get bits and bobs sorted, like we have put a new menu together.

"We are hoping that the renovation process should be done by next week. Then it will just be a case of Bolton Council approving the license, but it is all progressing well and we are looking forward to welcoming everyone back.

"We were hoping for the opening date to be some time in the first week of November, but if not we should be able to have it done by mid-November.

He added: "A couple of our chefs sat together and agreed on the new menu.

"Our chefs have gone away in the interim and tested new recipes on their families, so we have got new dishes that we will bring to the menu, with new flavours.

"We're really excited, fingers crossed that it will all go to plan."
