Emergency services are responding after a person was hit by a train between Manchester and Oxford Road this morning, Monday.
All services between Manchester and Warrington are currently delayed or diverted and "major disruption" on the line is expected until at least 10am.
The incident involved the Warrington to Manchester Oxford Road service at around 6.11am.
All stations between Manchester Oxford Road and Warrington are currently closed as crews deal with the incident.
Trains between Manchester and Warrington are currently cancelled or diverted following "severe disruptions" on the line.
Some of the affected operators include East Midlands Railway, Northern and TransPennine Express, with passengers urged to check before they travel.

The following routes have been affected with "major disruptions" following the incident:
Manchester - Warrington Central - Liverpool
Manchester Airport - St Helens Jn - Liverpool
Rochdale - Manchester - Blackburn - Clitheroe - Ribblehead
Leeds - Castleford - Barnsley - Sheffield
Alternative Travel
Road replacement transport has been requested to operate from Liverpool Lime Street calling at all intermediate stations to Manchester Piccadilly in both directions.
Tickets can be used at no extra cost on the following services in both directions:
East Midlands Railway services between Liverpool Lime Street and Sheffield.
Northern services between Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester Piccadilly, Manchester Piccadilly and Sheffield.
TransPennine Express services between Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester Victoria.
Metrolink services between Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Victoria.
Manchester Piccadilly released a statement on social media due to the closure:
A Network Rail spokesperson said: “We’re sorry to say a person was struck by a train this morning on the line from Warrington to Manchester.
"Our thoughts are with their family and friends.
"Our advice to passengers on the route is to check before they travel as although lines have reopened, we expect disruption to continue for some time this morning.”
