Forget pedal power — it's people power which is keeping Bolton's Paddy McGuinness on track as he prepares for his epic Children in Need charity.

Paddy will be taking part in a 300 mile bike ride on a modified chopper.

The Bolton lad will start his ultra-endurance cycle challenge during BBC Radio 2’s Breakfast Show on Monday, November 11 and will pedal almost 300 miles, starting in Wrexham.

Until then the television and radio presenter is busy training for the challenge, posting updates on his social media.

And in a recent post, Paddy told how it is people who are keeping him going.

He said: "Just done 40 miles on the chopper, there was a little voice in my ear telling me to stop.

"When you are out on those roads it can get quite lonely. It is very easy to quit but let me tell you every single person today - people were running up the side of me trying to give me money people were stopping their cars to wish me well. One guy who turned his bike around he was on the other side of the road and joined me for a mile or two.

"All you people - it was like giving me extra couple of a turns on the pedal so thank you very much today was tough and it spurred me on. So thank you."
