Police seized a vehicle in Astley Bridge after officers say checks revealed the driver had no insurance.
The car was seized under the Road Traffic Act, according to the force – with the driver fined.
Section 165A of the Road Traffic Act gives officers the power to seize vehicles.
A spokesperson for GMP Bolton said: “The car has been seized and the driver issued with a ticket.”
According to GOV.UK, driving without insurance can lead to six penalty points and a fixed penalty of £300 for those caught committing the offence.
If the case goes to court, drivers flouting the law can receive an unlimited fine and be disqualified from driving.
In Bolton, GMP has been cracking down on drivers flouting the law under its "Operation Classify" initiative – with high-risk roads targeted.
This comes amid long running concerns about crime on the roads in Bolton and further afield across Greater Manchester in recent months including cases of car theft, dangerous driving, driving without licences and driving without insurance.
Police have also reported recent cases of drink driving and drug driving.
Officers have urged anyone with any concerns about crime or anti-social behaviour on the roads or otherwise in their communities to get in touch by calling 101 or 999 in the event of an emergency.
Alternatively, witnesses can also call independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
