If you were at primary school in Bolton in 1984, you’re probably thinking ‘can it really be 40 years ago?’.

Well, yes it can and we have the pictures to prove it.

All these photos appeared in the Bolton Evening News during the year and show what rich and diverse activities were taking place at this time.

Fundraising for good causes and putting on a show were two of the most popular projects for youngsters.

We have been into the archives several times to produce a selection of school photos from years gone by and know that Looking Back readers are particularly fond of them.

So if you were part of the Class of ‘84, have a look at this selection and see if you can sport yourself or recognise someone on one of the photos.

There was certainly a fine collection of jumpers being worn by Bolton’s fashion-conscious youngsters!
