A woman in her 20s has died police have confirmed after emergency services were called to a concern for welfare report in Atherton this morning.
Police and North West Ambulance Service responded to reports of concern for welfare at an address on Oxford Road in Atherton at 11.25am.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “At around 11.40am today (9 October), we responded to reports of a concern for the welfare of a woman on Oxford Road, Atherton.
“Sadly, despite the best efforts of emergency services, a woman in her 20s was pronounced dead shortly after.
“There are not currently believed to be any suspicious circumstances at this time. Enquiries are ongoing.”
A spokesperson from Northwest Ambulance Service said: “We have attended an incident a private address on Oxford Road following a call at 11.25."
