A Bolton company has made an appearance in an episode of the long-running ITV soap opera Coronation Street.

In August, Dale Peter, who owns LED Glow Party Hire, announced that the company was set to make an appearance in a nationally broadcast television show by providing a party tent to be used on screen.

At the time, Dale was coy about publicly stating which TV show his party tent would be appearing in – keeping the identity under wraps.

However, some social media users guessed it may be Coronation Street on his Facebook page, after he finished a post with the sentence “Party Tent, I say I say, Party Tent”.

Now, it can be revealed that Dale’s party tent was used in an episode of the soap broadcast on Friday, October 4.

The episode showcases a rave in the memory of actor Peter Ash’s character Paul Foreman, who died after receiving a diagnosis of motor neurone disease in April 2023.

The storyline was praised by the Motor Neurone Disease Association, which congratulated the cast and crew for its ‘incredible portrayal of motor neurone disease and the realities of it’ back in September, when the character passed away.

Speaking to The Bolton News, LED Party Glow’s Dale said a lot of people are now opting for more celebratory events following the death of a loved one.

Dale said: “The characters said it’s what they’d have wanted, you actually see that a lot these days – especially when people die a bit younger.

“I’ve seen it in Bolton a few times, where instead of people just going back to a pub and keeping it lowkey, they do stuff like this – they have raves and play music from when they were younger and what they liked.

“I could actually see why Coronation Street did that, it was really good to see and it brought it up to date, which I thought was really good for the viewers.”

Dale said his party tent didn’t feature as much as he would have liked, but he was glad to see the production make use of his equipment.

He added: “I’d have loved to see some of the main cast in there, that would have been good – but obviously it’s not up to me to tell them where to go.

“It was good to help them out with not just the party tent, but with the UV decor they had on set. We knew they were doing a Hacienda kind of feel with the UV decor.

“Some of the stuff we put inside the tent, they’ve brought that out and incorporated that on to the cobbles and on to the steps, it was good to see them use stuff we had.”
