A Grade II listed building is set to reopen after a '£1million transformation.'
The 800-capacity venue, located at the corner of Oxford Road and Grosvenor Street, will reopen as 'The Grosvenor' pub next month.
The venue, which was acquired by an independent operator for just £1, will feature sports screens and a slide from the balcony.
The Grosvenor Picture Palace was originally the largest cinema outside London when it was built between 1913 and 1915.
Over the years, it has been a bingo hall, snooker venue, and most recently a student pub called 'The Footage.'
In 2024, the venue will open as an 'adult playground,' with over 30 beer taps, pool tables, beer pong tables, and a photobooth.
The venue will operate from 12pm to 12am and cater to both Manchester's daytime and nighttime crowds.
It will also showcase live sports from all channels and host weekly club nights, quiz nights, and live music.
The food menu will include sharers, wings, pizzas, and burgers, while the drinks menu will feature craft beers, spirits, and cocktails.
The Grosvenor is looking to attract a diverse crowd, including sports fans, students, office teams, and locals.
Exclusive discounts and offers are available for those who sign up on The Grosvenor's website ahead of the launch.
Chris Tulloch, managing director of the independent local operator behind the transformation, said: "The Grosvenor is in the midst of an incredible transformation, and we're creating something truly special for Manchester.
"Our vision is to blend the best aspects of a sports bar, social venue, and nightclub into one vibrant, unforgettable space where memories are made.
"As we breathe new life into this iconic building, we’re excited to continue its legacy as a cornerstone of Manchester’s entertainment, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone in to eat, drink and have fun in the adult playground."
Situated at the corner of Oxford Road and Grosvenor Street, The Grosvenor will open its doors next month, operating from 12 pm to midnight and staying open until 2 am on Fridays and Saturdays.
