Hollywood Bowl, Bolton, 1992
Ten pin bowling in Bolton went upmarket in 1992 when the Hollywood Bowl complex unveiled its latest offering.
This photo shows the recently completed Madison Suite which aimed to bring the feel of a gentleman’s club complete with panelling on the wall and leather Chesterfields for competitors to relax on.
The Bolton Evening News reported at the time that there was even waiter service so that drinks could be brought to your lane while you were playing.
You still had to try and get the bowling balls down to lane yourself though!
