St Ann's Hospice has been given a top award for its commitment to its staff.
The hospice has been awarded the 'We Invest in People' platinum accreditation by Investors in People.
Only seven per cent of organisations assessed achieve this level.
The award shows that the hospice has policies and practices to support its staff embedded throughout the organisation.
The assessment report described St Ann's Hospice as a place where a 'values-driven, high-performance culture' is the norm.
The hospice was praised for its focus on 'leadership, accountability, empowerment, recognition, learning, and innovation.'
These elements enable the hospice to 'not only provide excellent care but also create a thriving environment for your team.'
Of the staff who completed the survey as part of the accreditation, 87.6 per cent agreed that St Ann's is a 'great place to work.'
Gill Turnpenney, director of people, culture and support services at St Ann’s Hospice, said: "I couldn’t be prouder of this achievement.
"The success of our hospice and the excellent care we provide to our patients and their loved ones, starts and ends with our people.
"It is vital that our workforce feel valued and empowered.
"We couldn’t do what we do at St Ann’s without them and this accreditation is a testament to each and every member of staff and volunteers working to make our hospice the special place it is, and always striving for more ways to improve."
Paul Devoy, CEO of Investors in People, said: "We’d like to congratulate St Ann’s Hospice.
"Platinum accreditation on We invest in people is a remarkable effort for any organisation, and places the hospice in fine company with a host of organisations that understand the value of people."
