Maze Street tip, Bolton, 1972
It looks like a scene from Hitchcock’s classic movie The Birds, but this photo from April 1972 shows gulls flying over Bolton’s Maze Street tip.
It was something of an eyesore but more than 50 years ago regulations about household waste were not as strict.
