The trailer of a film shot in Bolton has been released, featuring Rivington's iconic Pigeon Tower.
The short film adaptation of Franz Kafka's classic parable 'Before the Law' will be shown at a free public screening in the town as part of celebrations marking Bolton's status as the Greater Manchester Town of Culture.
Bolton-based writer, director and producer, Brett Gregory said: "This is amazing news to receive.
"It’s a kind of validation for all the hard work everyone has committed to the project over the last ten months."
The film was shot in Rivington but also in the old Bolton Magistrates Court.
A free public screening of the film will be held in the Lecture Theatre at Bolton Central Library on October 16 from 5pm to 7pm.
Brett added: "2024 marks the centenary of Franz Kafka’s passing and celebratory events have been taking place in towns and cities all over the world as a part of Kafka2024.
"There’s a big, swanky Kafka exhibition taking place at the Bodleian Library in Oxford, for example, and so, as a consequence, and as a group of creatives, we felt it was only right that Bolton, and the north of England in general, should be represented also."

Brett, Gwyn Hemmings and Jack Clarke also produced the multi-award winning Manchester feature film, ‘Nobody Loves You and You Don’t Deserve to Exist’, in 2022, receiving acclaim from across Europe and the US.
Brett said: "There’s no reason at all why independent filmmakers in the North West should suffer from imposter syndrome.
"There are state-of-the-art production and post-production facilities available through the University of Bolton, for example. There’s an absolute goldmine of on-screen talent running through this borough due to the Octagon, and all the drama academies and theatre groups here. And, in turn, the architecture and landscape is world-class: historic, dynamic, visually stunning, and memorable, like something straight out of a 19th century Gothic romance.
"Crucially, there are also institutions and organisations in Bolton which are genuinely responsive to independent creatives’ visions and realities.
"For example, our production of Franz Kafka’s ‘Before the Law’ – which is a challenging yet edifying example of high-end, historical art – would simply not exist if it wasn’t for the unwavering support and influence of the Events and Filming Office at Bolton Council, Rivington Heritage Trust, Bolton Central Library and, of course, Bolton News.
"This is a fact, an absolutely wonderful fact."
