A woman has been arrested after Bolton police officers spotted a wanted woman while out on patrol.
On Monday, September 30, police were on patrol on Halliwell’s School Hill when they saw a woman they suspected to be wanted.
After detaining the woman, police enquiries established that she was wanted for a theft which occurred last week.

The woman was then arrested by local neighbourhood officers and taken to custody, police say.
A spokesman for Bolton Police said: “On Monday 30th September, officers were on patrol around the School Hill area of Halliwell when they sighted a female who they suspected to be wanted.
“The female was detained and enquiries established that she was wanted for a theft which occurred a few days prior.
“As a result, the female was arrested by the local neighbourhood officers and taken to custody.”

This latest arrest comes amid a crackdown on retail crime in Bolton.
Previously, police have said there was a 50 per cent increase in arrests for shoplifting in August and July when compared to the same period in the previous year.
