Two different developers appear to be at odds over which one of them is to take on a development of dozens of homes in Darcy Lever.
Morris Homes applied for planning permission a number of years ago while Westchurch Homes applied for planning permission this year.
Morris Homes' plan for around 110 homes was approved after an appeal to the Planning Inspectorate. Westchurch Homes' plan for around 130 homes is up for approval by the Planning Committee at the town hall this week.
The Radcliffe Road developments are on the same site and are a mixture of one-to-four-bedroom apartments and houses but there are differences including the availability of affordable homes and the impact on the Green Belt.

Morris Homes' plan includes zero per cent affordable homes and eight homes on the Green Belt and Westchurch Homes' plan includes 100 per cent affordable homes and no homes on the Green Belt.
Morris Homes and around a dozen residents are amongst the objectors to Westchurch Homes but there is a recommendation to approve the application in addition to the already approved application.
A report said: "The development will be delivered in collaboration between the applicant as the contractor and a Registered Provider who will manage and own the properties. The Registered Provider is not yet known.
"The affordable tenures are to be confirmed after an agreement with a Registered Provider and the allocation of any units will be in accordance with an agreement between the Registered Provider and Bolton Council."
If both of the applications are approved only one of the applications is allowed to be taken on and it is between the developers as to who is to take on the development. The Bolton News asked the developers for a comment.
The Planning Committee is at the town hall on October 3.
