A suspected stolen car was chased all the way from the Midlands along the motorway and into the North West before the driver was arrested.
The chase took place along the M6 just before midday on Sunday September 29 and involved patrols from West Midlands Police, Greater Manchester Police and Cheshire Police.
The Mazda, which officers believe to have been stolen, was finally stopped near junction 19 at Knutsford.
A GMP Traffic spokesperson said: “The Stolen Maxda CX5 was pursued by West Midland patrols along the M6 where the pursuit was taken over by Cheshire and GMP units in Knutsford.
“The incident was brought to a conclusion by TPAC near Junction 19 and the driver arrested!”
Officers say that the arrest was a strong example of teamwork between different forces.
An image supplied by officers at the scene shows the dark red Mazda having been brought to a stop on the motorway by a police car.
