A Bolton-based sitcom written and produced by one of the town's own will return to the nation's TV screens this month.
The second series of Alma's Not Normal will be broadcast from Monday, October 7 this year, the BBC has announced.
The show follows the titular Alma as she tries to give her life meaning while coping with the strained relationships of her family that saw her spend time in care.
Bolton's own Sophie Willan writes and stars in the show, which is inspired by her own experiences of the care system.
The acclaimed sitcom makes a welcome return for a second series, and Alma now has a talent agent, a new set of wheels and an acting job.
While that may all sound positive, the agent is a blagger, she can’t afford the wheels and the role is completely demoralising, so things aren’t quite panning out the way she’d hoped.
Meanwhile, Lin (Siobhan Finneran) is back in hospital and has discovered a new penchant for witchcraft, and Leanne (Jayde Adams) is running Bolton’s hottest bar, but Joan (Lorraine Ashbourne) is about to deliver some shocking news.

Scenes from the series were filmed in locations across the borough, including on Mawdsley Street, outside Home Bargains in the town centre and in Horwich.
The most recent round of filming in town took place off Great Moor Street in November last year.
The set on Mawdsley Street saw a colourful bar set up in the back of a truck, packed with production crews.
Sophie was also seen filming in Bolton in October last year outside the Home Bargains in the town centre, and again in Horwich, where she filmed at the Green Machine bike shop.
She previously told The Bolton News: “It’s always a treat to come home, and it’s lovely to be working here, and employing lots of Boltonians as well.
“It’s fabulous.”
Sophie also recently said she would have her last meal at a famous Bolton chippy.
Speaking on comedian Kathy Burke's death-themed podcast, Where There's A Will, There's A Wake, she said she would have a steak pudding with peas, chips and gravy at Olympus.
