Fire crews remain at the scene of a house fire in Egerton this evening (September 25).
Crews from both Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) attended the scene in Cox Green Road shortly after 3.30pm.
After tackling the blaze throughout the afternoon and into this evening, crews remain in attendance to monitor the premises and ensure it is safe.
A GMFRS spokesperson said: "Shortly after 3.30pm this afternoon, fire engines from across Greater Manchester were called to reports of a fire in a residential building on Cox Green Road, Egerton.
"Alongside crews from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, firefighters extinguished the fire using breathing apparatus and hose reels.
"Crews remain in attendance at this time to monitor the premises and ensure the area is safe."
